MG GF13-021NG Gundam Spiegel (Bandai)

Hi folks :) this is my 3rd MG of the Fighting Century, the Gundam Spiegel ;) I had uploaded these photos for months and now only have the mood to complete the review :P

Manufacturer: Bandai
Scale: 1/100
Grade: MG

Origin: Gundam G Fighting Century
Price: 2500 Yen

Part 1: Runners

Same as Shining and God, not a lot of runners for an MG, but the parts separations are quite nicely done ;)

Part 2: Skeleton Build

Legs

Very well articulated :) Like both MG of the same series, I just wished that the hip joints were like the v2.0 kits.

Body & Waist

Same as Shining and God too :p

Pretty standard pull-out mechanism for the shoulder. It uses a ball-joint to connect to the lower body so it added some degree of posing possibility as well. There is also the big "emptiness" for the core-lander from the back and also the body armor to be indented for the cross-arms pose ;)

Arms

Exactly same skeleton as the Shining and God Gundam so they are very nicely articulated too ;) Sadly, the twist & turn mechanism does not benefit Gundam Spiegel as they did to Shining & God :P

Complete Skeleton

Except the hip joints (ball-joints), all are excellent! Very good pose-ability too ;)

Part 3: Legs

Parts separations are nicely done. The bending of the knees and ankles are hindered a bit by the armor but not a big issue :)

Part 4: Arms

The articulation maintained with the outer armors ;)

This kit comes with a pair of blade attached to it's forearm, and 3 sets of rubber hands (open/posing, close fists, blade-holding) instead of the articulated-fingers hands from the recent MGs... I do not have any issue with this but hardcore fans would replace them with other options in the market :p

Part 5: Upper Body & Lower Body

Parts separation are done nicely. The upper body could be tilted forward and backward slightly due to the use of ball joint in the mid section ;)

I did the panel lining with silver and it goes well with the dark blue ;) The Kanji marking also going very well with the kit.

Part 6: Head

Pretty standard Gundam head... I love the helmet :p

Part 7: Core-Lander?

Pretty straight-forward core-lander with nice parts separations and transformation mechanism ;)

Part 8: Completed Gundam Spiegel

This is a very easy but fun MG to assemble ;)

Part 9: More Posing ;)

Quick Review

Parts/Color Separations

Parts and color separations are very well done! It makes painting easy for pro and it looks good too in straight build ;)

Articulations

Same as Shining & God, the articulations are nearly excellent for comparing to today's technology, and I believe it is one-of-a-kind when this kit is first launch ;)
  • Head/Neck: Very good!
  • Shoulder: Fantastic! Very highly pose-able with the pull-out mechanism.
  • Arm/Elbow: Very good!
  • Wrist: Normal+.
  • Hand: not articulated...
  • Waist: Good.
  • Skirt Armour: Good.
  • Hip/Tight: Normal+!
  • Knee: Good!
  • Ankle: Very good!

Looks and Feels

This is a nice kit and I had fun assembling it ;)

I would highly recommend this kit to MG beginner as this is pretty simple to assemble with a price tag of 2500 Yen (about RM90). This is an excellent choice for both quality and economy.

Fin ;)
