Destiny Gundam (Dragon Momoko)

Hi guys :) This round I am going to backdate my unfinished Destiny Gundam from Dragon Momoko. Due to the long break in between, and my change of phone, I lost some of the work-in-progress pictures :(

Nevertheless, here's my review.

Manufacturer: Dragon Momoko
Scale: 1/100
Grade: MG
Series: SEED Destiny
Price: TBA

Section 1: Runners

The plastic is pretty nice on the first glance. The color finishing is following the Metal Built color scheme instead of the anime, which is nice. Parts separation seems pretty nicely done too.

Section 2: Feet

The feet are pretty straight forward. Detailing and parts separation is done nicely, with good snap-fitting experience :)

Section 3: Legs

The inner-frame is not the standard MG style.

On the exterior, the detailing and parts separation is nicely done, with very minimum interconnected moving parts. The legs would look amazing only with simple panel lining :)

The only issue here is the limited articulation of the knee as shown in the picture below.

Section 4: Chest and Waist

The major difference between this and the Bandai's MG is at section... the chest and waist is connected at the inner-frame, and is impossible to separate. There is no ball-joint so no worries on "back-heavy" issue with the Destiny backpack.

The exterior parts detailing and separation are nicely done, with minimal need for panel lining :)

It is pretty sturdy at this point of time connecting the legs :)

Section 5: Shoulders

The shoulders looks simple but not in actual fact. They are designed in such way that the front cover can be flipped upward like the metal built, but forgo the mechanism to flip at the shoulder joint.

The connector to the Beam Boomerang is a bit tight... do file it down a little bit for easier detachment if you intent to play with the Beam Boomerang at a later time ;)

Section 6: Arms

The arms are very nicely done. It has the usual articulation at the shoulder, upper arm, elbow, wrist, and extra articulation at the forearm and a second articulation at the wrist :) In short, just  like the Metal Built.

This kit comes with 4 pairs of hands that's nothing to shout about.

Section 7: Head

Nice parts separation. Looks amazing too ;) Just wish that the neck joint could be a bit longer to allow better movement.

Section 8: Beam Rifle and Shield

Nice parts separation and shield deployment gimmick :)

Section 9: Posing without Backpack

Very nice parts separation. The head looks amazing too ;)

Section 10: Destiny Backpack

I have lost the work-in-progress pictures for the backpack, cannon and sword in transition. I might re-do them in a later date so please bare with these pictures :P

The backpack is pretty solid, with the deployment gimmick fully realized on this MG kit :)

Section 11: Posing with Destiny Backpack

Surprisingly, it stays standing even though it is back-heavy ;)

It would be excellent posing with the action base comes with the kit.

My Personal Experience

This is something different from the standard Bandai MG kit :) The articulation is not as good but is sufficient for a model kit ;)

The coloring and parts separation are nicely done, and this kit looks great!
